Paul Vickers is a passionate music educator, educational leader, conductor, consultant and coach. He is driven by a passion for developing high performance teams and deeply committed learning cultures. Paul loves seeing others succeed in their own pursuit of excellence.
Paul has twenty-five years’ experience conducting ensembles of various abilities and ages across all educational sectors. He has led from the front in significant school music programs for over twenty years, and has held a number of senior and executive educational leadership roles outside of Music Education.
Paul is dedicated to helping individuals and teams move toward high performance in their work and across their whole life.
The Complete Musical Leader: A Framework for Leading Music Ensemble Education
The Complete Musical Leader is a program of bespoke consulting and coaching sessions to support music educators in their leadership of school and community ensemble programs. Paul brings a wealth of experience from leading music programs, and his broader educational leadership in the public and independent school and university sectors. He is also informed by a deep understanding of the research that supports music education and ensemble education.
To assist music educators and school leaders, Paul has developed multifaceted diagnostic tools to assess music education programs, and to assist educators in creating tailored professional learning plans. The diagnostic tools are customisable, and can be applied through guided self-assessment or through an independent, objective assessment of the health and vitality of any music education program.
Individual Coaching and Leadership Development
As a trained coach, Paul has a passion for facilitating client’s own discovery of action plans for their continuing growth and development. Sessions are client-led, addressing the particular needs of the individual client and of their organisational context and community.
Paul is convinced that coaching can be a catalyst for the significant unsticking of people's personal and professional life. Coaching can help facilitate new ways of thinking and promote new experiences of clarity. Whether considering a career change, or just thinking through new ways of getting things done, coaching can help open minds and unlock new possibilities. Paul’s coaching practice is focussed on leaders and executives, as well as those wanting to step into leadership.
Paul knows what it takes to be a transformational leader and can guide clients through their next steps in building confidence, competence and capacity to lead. Paul is passionate about helping others move toward high performance in their work and across their whole life.
